Is The First Time Always The Best Time?

Leaving aside the more personal aspects to this question(!), am I the only one who always finds that the first time is the best time?

Whenever I go to a holiday destination, whether home or abroad, the first time around the beach was always prettier, the sun was always stronger and the sea was always bluer.

At a restaurant the first time around the food was always tastier, the waiters more attentive, and table always more intimate.

Why is this-does this just happen to me? If other people feel this way is there a psychological explanation? This keeps on happening to me and I don't know why. Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Aircraft Museum In Kent

On the way back from a weekend by the sea-side in beautiful Hastings I came across a road-sign saying aircraft museum.

Having been a bit of an aircraft spotter in my childhood I turned the car around and headed back for a look.


I'm glad I did!

















Brenzett Aeronautical Museum is a unique collection of wartime equipment, remains recovered from aircraft crash sites and memorabilia collected and donated to the Museum since it's formation in 1972.

The Museum Trust is non-profit making with all proceeds used to expand and improve the museum.

Although not a large site there is much to delight the aircraft enthusiast. There are two of the earliest jet-aircraft on display: a Canberra bomber and a twin-tail Vampire fighter. The Museum has one of the largest Bomb Disposal equipment displays in the UK as well as an actual Dambuster Bomb!

A very kind gentleman ( I think may have been the Caretaker Ray Brignall) took time to show me around with a look inside the Canberra bomber and this really made my day.


They often have Country Shows in the summer, the next one on 18th and 19th August, with Horses, Tractors, Steam Engines, Autojumble, Military and Motor Vehicles.
