Rotator Cuff Injury

Rotator Cuff Injury

The rotator cuff consists of the four muscles and their tendons that help to keep your shoulder joint in place.  Given the complexity of this arrangement and the amount of stress we put on the shoulder it is not surprising that as we get older things can go wrong.

The first sign that you may be suffering from arotator cuff injury is pain in the shoulder joint. If the pain is not too severe with no loss of strength and goes away after 2 to 3 days using self-help remedies such as pain-killers, then the chances are you have rotator cuff inflammation. If the pain does not go after a couple of days and you have a reduction in strength and/or range of movement then it may be something more serious such as tendonitis or impingement. Rotator Cuff Injury  will help you determine what type of rotator cuff injury you might have and what to do about it

Plastic Fencing

A good friend of mine has a beautiful bungalow in a sleepy little village in Lincolnshire. He always had a dream of the picture-perfect home with a white picket fence. After some research on Google he found a suitable supplier of plastic fencing. He was so impressed with the fully installed product he decided to become a distributor!

If you're like me you probably only think in terms of wooden fencing but  plastic fencing  has a number of advantages over wood:

  • Plastic fencing (being plastic!) won't fade or rot and should normally never need repainting.
  • The smooth finish makes it particularly suitable for households with pets and children as it will not splinter and has no nails to get caught on.
  • The very latest plastic fencing has impact modifiers so it's meant to be much stronger than wood.
  • One of the worries that people used to have with white plastic fencing is it turning yellow in sunlight but this has now been solved by the use of the  UV inhibitor titanium dioxide to give much better colour stability.
If your fence needs replacing or you just want to increase the value of your property then have a look at plastic fencing as a premium alternative to wood.

It could be the last fence you ever fit! If you need help and advice on purchasing and installing wooden fencing then have a look at PlasticFencingUK.com  based in Lincoln shire.

Body Fat Index

If you are not sure if you're overweight then an easy way to check this is to find your body fat index or body mass index (BMI).

Body fat index is calculated by taking your weight in kg/(height in m) squared.

For example if you weigh 80kg and your height is 1.82m then your Body fat Index or BMI would be:

80/(1.82*1.82)= 24.

This is my body fat index (BMI) which is just in the healthy range of 18 to 25!

BodyFatIndex.co.uk
gives much more detailed information on body fat and what to do if you think yours is too high.

Choosing Hair Straighteners

I recently wanted to buy a set of hair straighteners for a friend. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the number of different makes and types in the Argos catalogue.

Ceramic, ionic, infrared, tourmaline, nano-silver.
You need a degree in science to work out what it all means! Prices range from under £20 to over £100. Clearly the more expensive hair straighteners will have more features but are they better?

For information and advice on choosing hair straighteners have a look at hair-straighteners.net

Unofficial Meta Crawler

Yzoosearch.com

I came across an interesting new search engine recently: YzooSearch.com

The idea behind it seems to be that most web users will only be interested in the first page of results from any search engine as these are usually the most relevant.

YzooSearch.com supports this by combining the output from a number of the top search engines such as Google, Yahoo , AOL etc to give the most pertinent results. Hence they describe themselves as the Unofficial MetaCrawler.

Another useful facility is the Latest-Search button. This allows anyone to see what other users are searching for in real-time. If you do a search and then immediately click on '15 Latest Searches' you then get to see your search added to the list.

It may not be as accurate as Google but Yzoosearch.com is a lot more fun!
