Please Be Patient!

A web designer has now been found who has been working long and hard over the last few days to improve Bloggers Home Page with new features and content. If you are a regular viewer of the site you must have noticed a few changes:

  • Some of the blog ads are what I can best describe as 'fuzzy'!
  • Some of the blog ads have been moved from the right-hand side of the page to the centre;
  • A few of the links don't 'click'.

Please be patient as these problems will be sorted out over the next few days. If your individual blog ad is distorted or unclear you are welcome to e-mail your image to us at: sales@bloggershomepage.com where are web designer will resubmit them.

A Minor Milestone

Bloggers Home Page is now more than 10% full! Given that all the blogs on this page have been free it's not a great achievement, but it is an achievement all the same. A step in the right direction at least. Five new bloggers have recently joined us so I would like to introduce them to you with a short summary:

  1. www.blog/jontillman.com/ Silent In The Morning "Frugality, Homesteading, Simple Living , whatever you call it, it is about simply living. It is about paying attention to the substance of your days and making concious choices about how you are going to live." A blog with the theme of Simple living. This blog challenges the conventional wisdom of the never-ending work treadmill; running faster and faster to buy more products that we don't really need. Take time to read this blog and it may give you a new perpective on your own life.
  2. www.fyreplace.com Mind Blog...Amateur blogging for the amateur blogger "Welcome to the Advanced Monetization Series. If you’re relatively new to blogging, please consider reading my Amateur Blogging Series, or (if you’re starting your first blog) the New Blog Creation series, first. This series is designed to explore monetization and SEO techniques in a more in-depth manner. While still being written for the amateur blogger, this series will be a bit more professionally geared, explaining how to make money off of your blog. In this series, we’ll cover the following topics:
    General Recap of Options
Choosing the Right Options for Your Blog
    Ad Placement
    Ad Blending
Convincing Clicks (how to, and how not to violate TOS)
    Targetting Entries
    Tracking Earnings and Stats
    SEO Techniques
Putting it All Together " This blog has in-depth articles on keywords, monetization of your site, performance metrics etc. There is nothing amateur here. If you are serious about blogging you must read fyreplace.com.
  3. www.sumofthesides.com Not just any Place...But a place with Stuff! They certainly have lots of stuff: Movies, Random Stuff, Games, Jokes, Funny pictures. Not really a blog but certainly a fun website.
  4. www.mentalexcrements.com My Children Stole My Sanity "I can laugh at all of that now. I look at the “in crowd” now and I realize that THEY are the ones who were the misfits. They were merely living in the shadows of their parents and older siblings. They never developed a sense of self. They are all living in that same small town passing down that curse to their own children. LOVE your children. Reassure them that they are special. No amount of material things will EVER replace self worth and love. Teach them to take the road less traveled and be true to themselves. Teach them to stand on their own two feet and not care about what others think.Trust me on this….I’m a product of what happens when a child is not loved and given the gift of self respect." What more needs to be said?
  5. www.dungvvo.blogspot.com Life can only be understood backwards; but it has to be lived forwards. This blogger has only just started a new post on Blogger.com; let's hope he goes forward with this one.

A web-designer has now been found so expect to see some changes over the next few weeks. On a personal note, having to write every day for seven days for the International Women's Day Celebration has given me tremendous admiration for those who post daily or publish more than one blog. For those of you that do, you have my utmost respect.

International Women's Day: An End and a Beginning

We have finally finished our celebration of International Women's Day. Three female bloggers were added every day for 7 days to make a total of 21. These bloggers have been assembled into a continuous blogroll which is featured in a blog of its own at www.iwdblog.blogspot.com This blogroll will continue to keep on adding more and more female bloggers with the ultimate aim of being the longest blogroll in The World. The emphasis now will be on female bloggers recommended by other bloggers. If you know a female blogger who you believe to be one of the best the web has to offer either e-mail us here at Bloggers Home Page: sales@bloggershomepage.com or leave a comment on www.iwdblog.blogspot.com We will also include the URL to the blog of the one who made the recommendation.

International Women's Day 21 of 21

These are the final three of our female bloggers to celebrate International Women's Day:
  • www.stephanieklein.blogs.com Greek Tragedy....Stories of my life "You take precaution with your hopes, trying to measure them and keep things neat and leveled. You’re used to calculating your MTBU. When you meet a guy who gives you the “this is its,” you remind yourself. You were perfectly happy before you met him; you’ll be happy again once this ends. Your pessimism doesn’t even shock you. You conjure clichés, “this too shall pass,” to prepare yourself for the moment when you awake to find your dream has been yanked back and the sun does not continue to rise! If the dream remains intact, you'll soon have to face the nightmare critics, ghouls crouching in your shadows." This blogger once wondered whether she was a writer, be in no doubt she is. Add this to your daily blog read.
  • www.kittycanscratch.typepad.com Neurosis. Psychosis. Cirrhosos....The daily activities of a twenty-something New Yorker. "I’m trying to find the secret to enjoying every day of my life. So far I like Saturdays and Sundays, and that’s about it. I also like lunch breaks, like the one I’m taking now, even though I frequently bypass food in favor of writing. I like writing. I like it better than everything else. (Yes, I mean everything.) My mother told me I have to get an MBA or marry rich. I told her, “You can’t depend on men,” which is a line I got from her and from experience." Anybody who likes writing that much demands to be read!
  • www.tandasblog.blogspot.com I manufacture and raise homosapiens in my home(some people call this a "stay-at-home mom.") Currently I'm taking classes online to get a degree. Maybe, if I'm a good girl, I'll graduate before my kids get old enough to move out. "Why I should I pay someone else just so they can pay their bills? What am I? The Welfare office?" No, of course not. That's just the nature of the unwritten agreement between the server and the customer. "I'll bring your food to you as soon as the kitchen has it prepared, I'll refresh your drink as soon as it becomes half-full, I'll fill your every request, and I'll do all that with a smile on my face AS LONG AS YOU UNDERSTAND THAT I'M TRYING TO EARN A LIVING AND YOU'RE ESSENTIAL TO MY QUEST." "Why would you purchase a $20,000 heavy duty truck and then drive it like it was going to fall apart at any moment? If I'm going to pay that kind of money for a vehicle I'm going to take it down the bumpiest roads I can find and drive it like there's no tomorrow. " This is a very diverse blog which I found hard to categorise so I think it's fair to say there is something for every one. Check out her other blog 'Dirty Little secrets' www.dirtyls.blogspot.com

International Women's Day 18 of 21

The penultimate 3 bloggers of this 7 day feature:

  • www.angelwithanattitude.typepad.com Witty, charming, loving, shrewd-An angel with an attitude "...once bitten, twice shy. To surrender would mean remaining open to the possibility of being bitten, yet again. But once you've been ravaged so fiercely that an emptiness the likes of carlsbad's cavern is located where your heart used to be, even the nibbles are enough to cause a retraction so far into the depths of loneliness that the four letter word renders itself even more elusive than before. The innocent until proven guilty philosophy has shown itself to be my worst enemy. My trust is now earned, and not given. I read somewhere that the harder your heart breaks the more fiercely you love the next time the opportunity presents itself. If this is the case, then the next form of life who dares to cross over into these depths should be well armored." To down-to-earth to be close to heaven, but it might take you to a higher level.
  • www.mphoinix.blogspot.com A slice of life....addicted to scrapbooking, I must scrap everday. My passion is travelling. I am a temporary citizen of whatever country I happen to be in. "What ways have you made a difference to in someone's life? I challenge you to make a difference whether paying the toll for the person behind you, or offering to read to an elderly person in a nursing room you don't know. Make a difference!" A mosaic of travel, family, music and religion: a celebration of life!
  • www.dtrant.blogspot.com Let me go on and on "Daily trials of my psychotic life dealing with issues that come my way. Some posts are positive ones, some are negative, most material deals with issues of the gay & lesbian community...Enjoy the ride as I display my life online like a complete nut that I am!" Hang on to this one!

The final three bloggers tomorrow.

International Women's Day 15 of 21

Three more bloggers to publicise International women's Day, the first two featured on Bloggers Home Page itself:

  • www.writingup.com/blog/sharon_hurley_hall Freelance writing advice "...okay students, in yesterday's lecture we covered the importance of research, the supremacy of “the offer”, and the necessity of clarifying the response mechanism. You are now one step closer to writing money-making copy!" This is one of our very own bloggers. Sharon's blog is loaded with tips on freelance and creative writing, simple but effective methods to promote your website, and ways to make money from writing. If you are interested in any of the above make sure you visit asap.
  • www.themommyblogger.com Come on mom and pops....let's blog! The Mommy Blogger has great information for parents and expecting parents. "Breastfedbabies have the most explosive poops!! I can not believe my daughter sometimes…it literally got all over the wall one day. It’s like beat the clock or beat the poop bomb everytime I change her!! But how do you know if your baby has diarrhea - it’s so messy to begin with?" It didn't seem right not to have at least one 'mommy blogger ' so here is the original and surely the best.
  • www.mariskris.blogspot.com It's all about me. My life, my way. "Recently I was talking to my 73-year-old father about relationships, and he mentioned to me how sad he thinks it is that people are waiting longer and longer to get married. "When I met your mother, I couldn't wait to spend forever with her. If people love one another, why not start a future right away?""Because, Dad, things are different now. My generation has certain opportunities and luxuries that yours never had. Now, life isn't just about finding the right person and settling down. It's about finding ourselves." The theme here is: "it's all about me". This doesn't seem unreasonable as it is a blog after all! An in-depth exploration of a single life.

Only six more bloggers to go, three more tomorrow.

International Women's Day 12 of 21

Three more bloggers to take us more than half way through:

  1. www.jettingthroughlife.blogspot.com Jetting through life "I am just a normal person trying to get by in my everyday life. This is who I am.....Take me or leave me. So, whatever you want to know, just ask..... my life is pretty much an open book." Do have a read and make sure you check out her 'Friday Funnies'.
  2. www.terminaldegree.net Metamorphosis complete "I'm a freelance musician and accidental adjunct, trying to have a social life along with paying the rent." This blogger doesn't blow her own trumpet, just a kazoo.
  3. www.girlsinthebag.com Werewolves of New london "If I go too long without eating some red meat, I mean REAL red and REAL meat I start to freak out a little bit. I can handle it for a couple of months but after that something has to moo for me or I just can't function." Although lilac and pink in hue, this blog is red-blooded in more ways than one. No shortage of protein here!

More blogs and comments tomorrow.

International Women's Day 9 of 21

Three more female bloggers to highlight International Women's Day:

  1. www.kittykatlounge.blogspot.com A place for my thoughts, rants, filth and drunken musings. "I like talking into the dead of night and can't stand silence. I smoke like a chimney and if you don't like it, too damn bad. I'm a closet bitch and choose to unleash it on those most worthy". If you want relaxation don't enter the kitty kat lounge, but if you want a blog with claws this could be for you.
  2. www.agirlwitha.com I'm not a forever person. I'm only really interested in the here and now. "I would hope that you'd be able to find the answers to any questions you may have about me by reading through the archives, you lazy buggers. But of course you're probably one of the many who only look at three pages on this site." Read more to get more. You'll be so glad you did!
  3. www.access-anisa.blogspot.com Strike a Pose "I'm a 20-something who still thinks her birthday is the best day of the year. I am a newly wed in a new place with a new job and new friends. Things are different from what I'm used to, but I'm thrilled with the opportunity to reach new goals and have fun in the process." Just a sweet Georgia girl, making her way in the Worl'

International Women's Day 6 of 21

Here are the next three female bloggers to celebrate International Women's Day:
  1. www.goofygirl.org Goofy girl is on the midst of her first year at medical school. She hopes this "won't take away her goofy-ness but instead make her into a Patch Adams sort of doctor". Check out her blog and judge for your self.
  2. www.bitchphd.blogspot.com Please remove your shoes, slip on this pair of blue stockings, and come in. "This is a feminist site...if feminism pisses you off, or if you decide that I have my head irretrievably up my ass, it's pretty easy to read something else.....if however you enjoy intelligent discussion and debate, you're most welcome here". BitchPHD does exactly what it says on the tin. If you can stand the heat then come into this kitchen!
  3. www.aftertheratrace.blogspot.com Life after marketing "So here I am, a part-time helpline manager, a freelance writer, and a student. It 'sounds' good and it certainly doesn't feel bad, but it's a hell of a lot harder than I thought it would be". This is one of our few Brit Bloggers so all you Brits pay attention at the back!

Amidst all the interest generated by International Women's day I forgot to mention two new blogs on Bloggers home Page:

  • www.makemoneyfastworld.com Sorting scams from real opportunities...welcome to the real world "....dedicated to the critical discussion of websites, methods, techniques, and investments offered online that promise you can get rich quick" Given the enormous, almost dazzling number of get-rich-quick schemes now proliferating across the internet, I strongly urge you to visit this site if you are considering any online money-making opportunities.
  • www.cellbiol.com The Bio-Web for science that's fun. "This is a site dedicated to resources for cell and molecular biologists." Although not really a blog this site is full of articles that non-biologists (that means us!) will find accessible and entertaining. I know this is hard to believe but do have a look.

Three more female bloggers tomorrow. Your comments and links are always appreciated.

International Women's Day

Whilst surfing one of the bloggers here-Webby's World (courtesy of Joe Anderson) I became aware that it is International Women's Day on the 8th March. A number of male bloggers:

  1. www.joeanderson.co.uk/blog/
  2. www.giagia.blogspot.com
  3. www.neilturner.me.uk/

have taken to linking to a different female blogger every day for five days. In recognition of this, and to be honest to encourage more bloggers here, Bloggers Home Page will link to three female bloggers every day for the next seven days. Hopefully, this will add to the momentum already set in motion by others.

I have come across a few light-hearted comments that many female bloggers fall into two categories:

  • Either single women with blogs that have pink as the dominant colour,or:
  • 'Mommy bloggers' debating the merits of disposeable nappies against re-usables.

Well! Two points: I have no problem with pink as a colour-on lipsticks, on shoes, on dresses, or even as the main colour in a blog. As for 'mommy bloggers' I am proud to say that Bloggers Home Page has the ' Mommy Blogger' , please check out www.themommyblogger.com Any other 'mommy bloggers' who can offer the same quality of writing on subjects as diverse as parenting and childcare, family and health issues, working from home and making money from blogging are most definetely welcome here.

Before I give the first three I need to say that the order of listing does not imply any kind of ranking. These bloggers were obtained by going from one blogroll to another, the starting point being the three male bloggers above so thank (berate!) them. Any blog that held my attention was noted. I am not personally familiar with any of these blogs but I do hope that they will become familiar to this website.

  1. www.blog.techchicks.info Tech news, reviews and geeky delights from a So. Cal. IT dame "..I had a boyfriend when I was in 9th grade who had a commodore 64 (with tape unit). I was in love! Not with him. I was hooked on his computer."
  2. www.killired.blogspot.com Fun things to do, browse, play, buy and learn about online. "I love surfing the internet and always seem to find really cool stuff. Whether you are a computer expert or a beginner you will find some cool stuff here."
  3. www.micheleagnew.com The lovely thing about me is that I am so damn good at it! "There is no such thing as too many: books, black shoes, cups of coffee, or love letters."

Take time to check these out. Three more bloggers tomorrow.

A warm welcome to four new bloggers

Bloggers Home Page would like to welcome four new bloggers to our little website. In no particular order of importance or posting:

1.www.moondawgden.blogspot.com According to MoonDawg his blog consists of "erudite pontifications and fulminations on politics, travel, pop-culture and some Icelandic skaldic poetry" (well perhaps not so much of the last one!). We thank you for enlisting and hope you enjoy your tour of duty with Bloggers Home Page. There is good material here-particularly on politics; you may not agree with everything that is written, but it's certainly worth reading. Moondawg, we salute you!

2.www.shadowedone.blogspot.com "One Life-Live It" This is one of the first blogs I came across whilst surfing randomly by clicking on the 'NEXT BLOG' icon from my own blog on Blogger.com. This blog is honest and intense-almost raw, and immediately held my attention. See if it holds yours!

3.www.ncwphotos.blogspot.com The aim of this blog is to "Try to share the beauty of North Central Washington with the rest of the World". Photos are updated on a regular basis. Relax for a minute and take time to check out some of these beautiful landscapes. (Some more text would be nice though!)

If you're in the mood for blog-hopping see some related links to the above blog, both on Bloggers Home Page:
i)www.ishty.blogspot.com I-Should-Have-Told-You or ISHTY is an on-line collection of tales of regret. Short and bitter-sweet: straight from the heart and straight to the point. Be careful if you enter this blog-you may stay longer than you first intended and end up posting your own ISHTY!
ii) On a lighter note there are more pictures of the Washington area from www.wenatcheepicaday.blogspot.com This blog "aims to display interesting pictures of wenatchee, WA and the surrounding area on a daily basis". Some of them are!

4.www.writingup.com/blog/joetheartist Lastly, and absolutely by no means least, Bloggers Home Page welcomes Joe The Artist. Go to Google and type in joetheartist and you'll soon see why Joe is certainly not least. JoeTheArtist is another blogger from www.writingup.com He recently joined WritingUp from another blog-host as he wanted to do some more serious 'heavy writing'. Check out his blog and see how he weighs in.

I will try to feature as many bloggers as I can over the next month and provide some links back. Any reciprocated links are always appreciated. Keep posting!
